De tool maakt het mogelijk om zeer precies en gecontroleerd stenen te plaatsen op de zeebodem, waardoor de installatietijd aanzienlijk wordt verkort. Aangezien het eerste deel van het <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanoord.com\/nl\/updates\/van-oord-voltooit-ballastwerkzaamheden-en-erosiebescherming-voor-het-west-white-rose\/\">West White Rose Project<\/a> is afgerond, lichten we graag onze bijdrage aan dit grote project toe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In oktober 2018 werd Van Oord gecontracteerd om installatiewerkzaamheden uit te voeren voor dit bijzondere project. Hun uitdaging: een methode ontwikkelen om stenen met hoge precisie op de zeebodem te plaatsen, zonder de installatieoperaties te vertragen. Van Oord zette daarvoor haar flexibele vloot; de Nordnes en Stornes in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KENC's rol?<\/strong> Van een theoretisch concept naar een op maat gemaakte engineeringoplossing voor het nauwkeurig plaatsing van stenen. Michel Olimulder, voorheen Lead Engineer bij deze opdracht en nu Commercial Manager bij KENC, blikt terug:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\"KENC en Van Oord hebben samengewerkt om een innovatieve, op maat gemaakte tool te cre\u00ebren. Wij zijn dankbaar dat we hebben kunnen bijdragen aan dit grote project.\"<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Het veld van West White Rose bevindt zich op een waterdiepte van 120 m en ligt ongeveer 350 km vanaf de oostkust van Newfoundland, Canada.
