Lift Beam – March 2018

June 13th, 2019

KENC has designed a lift beam with a WLL of 200t for Breman Machinery in Genemuiden. Breman has fabricated the liftbeam for own use. The lift beam will be used in the newbuild manufacturing hall that offers space for Europe’s largest cutter bank, and has overhead cranes with a 320t lifting capacity. The light and compact design of the hoisting beam was possible thanks to detailed buckling calculations. The length of the lift beam is almost 12m, with a self-weight of only 12t. >> Read more

Newsletter Issue 2 – 2016

October 20th, 2016

In the past year KENC has executed a number of major projects for well known customers. We were commissioned by Heerema to make workstations for the DCV Balder, resulting in safer and more efficient pipe laying. Another project was the development of a system enabling Van Oord to deposit rocks at greater depths. We have also engineered a pile grillage with seafastening for Jumbo Offshore, and for Boskalis we have made adjustments to a lifting hook for the Taklift4. In this Newsletter you can read about these projects in greater detail.  >> Read more

Mock-Up Mission

Testing pipe-lay procedures and training offshore crew  in an onshore location in Scotland is safer than on-the-job learning at sea in places like Angola – and it saves valuable vessel time. Completed on time and on budget, KENC Oil & Gas’ Workstation Mock-Up (WSMU) is a custom-built facility that allows Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC) to assess equipment and staff prior to stepping aboard their DCV Aegir. The project’s three key players – from KENC Oil & Gas, Managing Director Eric Buining and Project Manager Cor Hilbrink, and from HMC, Pipeline Production Coordinator Arthur van Opstal – tell the story.
