We designed and delivered a Noise Mitigation Deployment System (NMDS) to ensure environmental compliance during monopile installations in German waters.
During the installation of offshore wind foundations, Seaway 7 needed to comply with strict offshore noise mitigation regulations. To achieve this, they required an efficient and reliable way to deploy a Hydro Sound Damper (HSD) net, which ensured environmental compliance without slowing down operations.
The existing offshore noise reduction methods were too time-consuming, complex and difficult to integrate with the vessel’s existing equipment. That is why Seaway 7 turned to us to develop a Noise Mitigation Deployment System that could:
Work seamlessly with the vessel’s monopile gripper
Allow the heavy HSD net to be folded into the basket and lowered using 18 winches
Operate efficiently in harsh offshore environments
We designed and delivered a custom system – a fully integrated engineering solution for fast and safe Hydro Sound Damper deployment.
A robust deployment basket for the HSD net
Eight winch skids for smooth and accurate positioning
Fully automated hydraulic and control systems synchronized with the monopile gripper
Faster, safer and more efficient monopile installation
Seamless integration with existing offshore installation equipment
Proven reliability in harsh offshore conditions
